How to Move out Smoothly!

Moving is an exciting and often overwhelming thought for many! While we never want to lose great tenants, we are happy to see tenants buying homes, expanding their families, and taking amazing new jobs that require a location change. To make the moving process smooth for all involved we make the following suggestions:

  • The move-out process starts with contacting Chrissy Jahntz at [email protected] one-month prior to when you anticipate moving.
  • Let us know when you will be moving out and we can be aware if you will require a reference, happy to accommodate you!
  • If you are looking for something bigger, smaller, newer, or with different amenities please let us know. We love to keep good tenants and will accommodate a move to another property if one is available. You can find our vacancies at https://greystoneatlantic.ca/current-vacancies/
  • Rent is required for the last month of tenancy, we do not apply security deposits to outstanding rent
  • Please keep your unit in clean and tidy condition during your last month. When we are doing viewings, prospective tenants love a tidy unit when deciding where to make their next home!
  • We will drop off a copy of the move-out cleaning checklist a week prior to your move-out date. It makes it much smoother on Greystone and the new tenant when the unit is left in the neat and tidy condition you received it in. We also love giving full security deposits back as it means we didn’t need to scramble for a cleaner after you moved out. It’s a win-win situation for everyone when the unit is properly cleaned.
  • If there is a damaged item in the unit just let us know so we can fix it before the new tenant moves in
  • Tenancy ends at noon on the last day of the month. The new tenants typically will move in on the 1st of the month.
